if you can afford losses straight away, that big, why would you be starting a hosting company?

Reseller account is good for those who are new in the hosting business. You should opt for reseller account if you don't know how to manage a dedicated server and you want a dedicated server at a fraction of a cost. you can upgrade to a dedicated server at anytime When your site gets more traffic and when you are capable of managing a dedicated server.

You can choose a dedicated server when you need more control over your server than a reseller account. With the dedicated server you can choose your own control panel as well as what software to install. A dedicated server also allows you to sell reseller accounts.

You can find a host but you cannot give many features to your customers which you can give on a dedicated server. If you have taken a reseller package of 10 GB space and 100 GB Bandwidth from a host then you cannot give 10 GB space and 50 GB Bandwidth to one of your customer as u'll be left with no space after that. Your potential customer might be ready to pay good amount for that but it won't work out for you and you will loose that potential customer.

Reseller account is good to get started with the hosting business but one should plan to get dedicated server within few months of starting as you cannot survive in this competition if you prefer to remain a reseller for a long time.

it could be done if you get a cheap enough reseller and sell small packages... but it would be better to get a dedicated server so you can have more competetive prices, and just add each server as you need them

dedicated servers cost and you'd need to have a more dedicated fan base that can take care of your 100 a month servers cost, plus securing it!
