phpbb is probably the best free forum out there...
if you can get ur hands on a unlimited verison of IPB (trial), thats pretty good too....

u can install mods easily on phpbb with easy mod... its really easy to use and you can also easily install skins

some of my best boards I've had running on free bb software I would have to say phpbb, its not too bad, burning board (I think it was called) isnt to bad ether.

nah, i used easymod before, it works really well.... just use it on the simple mods ... i even use it on the expert mods but have to go in and manually edit some files to get it to work right w/ easymod...

The most simple and efficient to create a forum, imho
If you haven't got much time, and want to see what the new phpbb3 can offer, just try it out on this host : free forums
