I would have to say cpanel it is very good. That is what we use and I like it but never really used anything else. Well unless you mean custom cpanels like with old hosts etc. But I like cpanel easy to use and easy backup etc.

Cpanel is definitely one of the most widely used CP's out there... we personally offer a customised control panel to our customers.. developed in-house its suited to the type of service we offer

cPanel X. I would use Plesk if I couldn't get cPanel though.

Ditto on HSpere. I am pretty non-technical a beginner; and I have found HSphere very good and supereasy. I have a reseller account at OurInterNet.us and they are very good also.

I also now have a BabyGator account at HostGator, primarily because it includes Fantastico and WordPress.

OurInternet does now have an Installer ( EasyApps ) but EasyApps does not provide the much better selection of scripts available through Cpanel & Fantastico, like WordPress.

Quite frankly, I find CPanel a real pain. Nothing is intuitive. It has extremely little / minimal on-line / contextual help. The online-help is very minimal / poor. Many pages have no explanation whatsoever.

My feeling is that CPanel is suitable more for technical types who like spending more time playing around with programming.

I have had to call Hostgator numerous times, to get CPanel help, and they have been very good.

I hope this helps.

It might have been worthwhile to create a poll for this thread.

Of the six listed, I've used cPanel, Plesk, and Ensim. I've found cPanel to be the most user friendly, but opinions here tend to vary a lot. Many newcomers to these control panels do say that Plesk has a smoother learning curve and is, therefore, more user friendly.

Can't say much about Ensim, as it neither impressed me nor frustrated me enough for me to be able to say much about it. I do, however, find cPanel to be the most versatile in that it can integrate easily with more 3rd party software than the other two. Overall, I'd rank these three in this order: cPanel, Plesk, Ensim.
