I think it depends on the amount of webspace you require. I mean I started with a 1GB server and then a 10 GB space and now I have 200 GB space. However I don't use even 3% of it but the requirements are growing.

Moreover the reason I bought such a large space was because I was getting it at a very cheap price. And if you want I can share this space with you. Generally you would get a 1 GB space for $20 - $40 a year(after searching a lot on the internet). I would give you a 10 GB Space with a 100 GB bandwith/month for $25 a year. Do let me know if you are interested.

However if you the same 200 GB sapce that I have then it is available at $79.04 /year only. If you can shed that much then let me know as well. I will tell you how to go about it.

James .. Consider the following

1. Always betetr to go with a well known host.
2. Read reviews before you select any.
3. Check if they have a 24/7 customer support. Check the avg. time to respond to support tickets.
4. Better select one that offers cpanel or plesk.
5. Dont give too much attention to huge bandwidth / space. You wont need it in 99% cases.

based on the above, I would suggest hostgator, hostingmatters, Lunarpages etc. Up to you to make your choice.

I recommend hostgator or lunarpages. I use both for different things. Lunarpages is a bit better with the qulaity of replies from support but I would say hostgator replies faster.
