Exclamation Horrible Experience w/ Forumer

Hi everyone.
I am posting this thread to let people know about the level of service and support which are not good at Forumer.com, http://www.forumer.com/

they host community forums and blogs there both phpBB and IPB.
Their service is free with absolutely no upgrade options now or ever to be offered in the future.
They have very little features to offer, no modifications, no admin backup rights, no mass email, no email address, little to no support, and advertising banners are displayed on sites.

I have had nothing but problems for the year or so I have had a board at Forumer. Their service is deplorable, downtime has been at an all time HIGH recently. Uptime is 50% or less the rest of the time. The support is unresponsive (just look at the posts under support for fShops, and phpBB server 13!) or indifferent and it isn't getting any better.
There is nothing short of complete incompetence.
For example the technicians that work with Forumer during a typical "move" of their servers broke the hard drive on server 13 and don't know when it will be fixed. Hundreds of people are pissed off.

Part of the problem is the staff work on volunteer basis and this Limez guy who runs it is like a teenager or young kid. Their servers aren't even serviced by Limez or his staff they are leased and maintained by someone else, someplace else! I don't think Limez even knows what a server is! Has he ever seen one?

Anyway me and many others are tired of it and are taking action.
I am sending this to everyone I know, and using every avenue avail to me to inform so that hopefully other people won't make the mistake of actually joining Forumer.

I am hoping to move our board soon. If you know of any resources please share them with me in this thread.

Pass it on. Good luck and many thanks to you.

Grrrman

Hello,

First of all, i would never recomend anyone to go in for something that is free, it is a basic logic, a company will practically 0 income cannot provide you quality service.

If they say, they do, you've got to be a fool.

So next time, you can make a better decision and not regret thereafter.

Yeah, whatever, CNN.

That post was as biased as the reporting that goes on with that news agency.

1) Get your facts straight and post the truth. Here's the truth:

2) Little to no support? We, the support staff work thier butts off. We do this on volountary basis, so we do not have to do this. You do not know the work we do within Forumer. On top of that, we each have lives and cannot be on 24/7. The support is in fact superior, grrman. We are not little 14 year olds with nothing better to do. We try our dear best to remain professional at all times.

3) Server down time... Hmm, I wonder what that can be from. The recent server move, ya think? ...wich was warned in advanced! Our servers are far more stable than the rest of that crap that's out.

4) How dare you call Limez a little kid. He is in fact an adult with a life as well. Apparently you haven't been with Forumer.com enough to know that he does in fact run the servers. He fixes the bugs, he manages the servers, he pays for the servers. He should be respected for even offering a service for users.

Oh my someone has a wild hair.
Speaking of which, you're splitting hairs

Biased? Not entirely its my honest opinion and many hundreds of others agree
so they must all be biased too...riiiiiight

Facts? Hmm, a month of downtime was a fact
warned 48 hrs in advance of the move after two weeks of downtime, then an addtl two weeks + of downtime after the hard drive was broken on top of 6 weeks of posts, members and data lost on all those forums hosted on the server in question
Yep I won't use a free service again, I'd be a fool like the ones who complain about how hard they work there for nothing

And for the love of god if you love the guy so much, marry him, geez

Remain professional & have a life? Well I think your post settles that one,
ha wow the support staff reviewing a members review in another forum, anyone who stalks someone online just to respond to an honest point of view has to have a screw loose and just proves my point
