What is a good low price that I should expect be paying for a dedicated server. My client is looking for good resources with relatively low overheads.

I think a good dedicated server costs nearly 150$ and more. If it costs lower hmmm...I don't know how good it works.

Thing is, you shouldn't be shopping on price - but instead on quality of service.

If you need to invest in a server, the last thing you want to do is find it down or burned out because you got yourself a rubbish host.
