MS Frontpage

(Sorry if this thread doesn't go here) Do you use Frontpage? I use it because I am new to web-designing and I use it because I can't remember some codes, or write them wrong. However it messes up with css.

I most certainly do! But you know what, learn html, css, php and sql at least. I've spent 4 years depending on frontpage and I've noticed that it made me lazy. How else could I explain taking almost two years to finish an 8-page Introduction to PHP Tutorial!

I've liked using these sites when I try to learn because they're easy so I hope this'll help you too!

I'm sure there are many other good sites though!

I always use frontpage if I'm makin simple pages. It saves SOOOOOO much time rather than typing out code. Who cares if it's for newbies or w/e. Let people talk, and waste their time writing out code by hand when you do it with 1 click.

If u need or desire to use wysiwtg editors to script you site then by all means go ahead... but a word of warning about ms frontpage

Due to the fact that microsoft is the distributer of the program, originally the concept was to monolypolise the web BROWSING industry by previding a program to most windows house holds, which out puts HTML and code supported only by MS IE...

There are often reports of incorrect code errors bein viewed in pages from other such browsers as firefox and netscape yet in IE these are not a problem...

This means that frontpage has probably the worst corss-browser support of any HTML WYSIWYG that i know of so a word from the wise on frontpage...

check it with as many different browsers and browser versions as possible...

cheers

I've noticed that but then I'm running a 2000 release so it's bound to be full of even more crap code. Say, table borders used in frontpage show up properly on IE but not on firefox

yes that sort of thing is pretty much what i was on about... and if youve got a table based sight you may find ts is completely distorted within firefox... which is not good because alot more people are choosing to use firefox these days...

yes! because if you're just starting and don't know anything, frontpage makes a page and it's not readable isn't it?
