My four days of hell (so far) with my dedicated server at THE PLANET

My server went down on Saturday and was up again on Monday morning. I thought things had returned to normal but today at 5 am pdt, the server went down again and has been down ever since. I have no replies on three service ticket. I chatted with support at 11 AM and they told me the outage would be 5 hours. I am still down.

This is the worst experience I have had with a web hosting company in over 12 years of maintaining multiple websites. The worst part of it is that nobody at the company is being honest and letting people know how long the problem is going to persist. Why did they not warn peope that were up on Monday to expect more outages?

Yeek. It's hard for me to imagine what would legitimately cause that kind of extended outage. Longest I've ever had a customer server down unplanned was 10 minutes.

News like that could kill a company. They want to keep the low profile on their problems, so that customers won't move. But 4 days... its a lot of servers that are down out there..
