Promoting webhosting forum site!!

Hi, i been thinking and thinking to have own webhosting forums, hope one day

will become v7n or webhostingtalk. well, i not aim that high this moment,

first step first.

How can i promote a webhosting forum from beginning??
- no PPC please. too costly.
- self posting or hire posting.
- seo is way too slow in this "webhosting forum" keyword

any ideas that i could get this on track in less than 2 mth of hard work?? I

really want to do it, just i dont know how!! any advice is appreciated.

I would suggest a combined approach ie self posting, hired postings, seo things, adding in search engines and directories. You can do it yourseld or by hiring a team
Some of it works on short terms basis while others on long term basis. Some of these are direct methods to obtain traffice, while others relate to indirect methods, more related to retaining the customers or adding new customers. All are important. eg we could bring one of our customers site to PR 5, now the customers visiting the site (the ones with pr thing in tool bar) or would be customers searching for autheticity of the site etc feel more confident to see site appearing well in various areas, that is how it goes.

ya, freebies is important. i also come across is quoting a 'special gift' for customer as well. hope this works.
