I have both accounts . I can create single hosting accounts,, or I can create a reseller account. The business cost me less than $10.00 a month.
I cant rent or buy a dedicated server for that little. so on some sides being a master reseller is the way to go,, you get the best of both worlds.

You are probably comparing reseller and VPS accounts, as it's not reasonable to compare dedicated to reseller, the difference in price is really huge.
So Reseller plan vs VPS, I'd say with less money and server management skills it's always better to go for the reseller plan, the minuses of the reseller plan are inability to control RAM, few people on the account.
