Webspace and Bandwidth

hi all ,

I'm a bit curious to know, what are the advisable sizes of webspace and bandwith for a personal site?

Thank you.

For a personal website I think 100MB space and 1GB bandwidth would be more than enough.

Hi,
That really does depend on how many people visit your site, I rmember
getting my first paid package and I bought LOADS of webspace and
bandwidth to be safe, but atleast it never went down due to it! Its up to how much you are willing to pay too.

Depends really usually it would be around 100mb but if you want to out additional media into it like videos just aim a bit higher at around 500mb and for that around 1-2GB sounds liek a good plan.

it depend of the size of your files as well as the number of visitors of your web site. E-mail traffic also counts.

For people who are on a small budget, an alternative to this would be to use a free file/image hosting service like photobucket or imageshack. I haven't found any free video hosts yet, but if anyone finds one, send me a PM

For a personal site, 100MB and 1GB is definitely overkill if you use these free image hosting services. There's this multiplayer game that I've written and currently manage/run, and it uses only 5MB of space (add another 5-10MB for the DB) and less than 2GB of BW per month.
