well i guess this is all base on opinions...
Anywho asp.net and php are entirely different code bases and its nion impossible to compare... were .net can be easily integrated with VB and C++.net and vice verca and php handles more of the comsmetic sides of thingas...
for truly complex web applications id suggest asp.net over php anyday, and you will find mayn proffessional developers use it for advance programs however php is used for you basic CMS type script, which is more about the conducting of queries from and for a DB then anything else
PHP statistically is the highest use language (with the majority) but hs is only because windows d=servers are hard and expensive to come by and before curtrent more stable releases of windows server, it was known to have many falts and bugs so people stayed away...
Secondly there are also more readily available free php scripts for poeple to download ans use... yes there are some asp.net one but very, very few in compaarison. This is becuase as i said these apps are more abotu the connecting to and querying a db and arnt all that complex...
