would the budget decide the server specification

hello

price versus performance what would you recommend - a celeron for a server or would you say p4 or xeon?

Depends on what you need it for! Although, generally, if youre getting a dedicated server, chances are performance is important to whatever you wanna do (that IS why you don't want to use shared hosting anymore, right?) Going for dedicated is certainly a huge decision and lots of people seem to get dedicated server hosting when they don't need and end up wasting tons of money, so make sure you actually need it before you get it. But chances are, if you do really need dedicated server hosting, then performance is important to you and the small amount of cost difference between a good and a bad processor should be nothing compared to the overall cost of a dedicated server.

i will prefer p4 as its for hosting there must be good processing speed......... in technical terms

and as per budget p4 is preferable coz celeron can hang a lot....... many clients kicking the server ass.....
